Yesterday marked the first day of The Leicester Comedy Festival 2017 running from 8th - 26th of February across Leicestershire. The Festival began back in 1994 with 40 events across 23 venues over just 7 days. Since its humble beginnings it grew to an impressive 780 events across 65 venues over 19 days in 2016. And this year is set to be the biggest yet with 800 events programmed over 19 days!
Here are just some of the highlights;
- The UK Pun Championships at De Montfort Hall on Monday 13th February
- The Silver Stand Up Competition (for comedians aged over 55) on Thursday 23rd February
- Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year 2017 at The Y on Saturday 25th February
The Exchange is proud to have been a host to The Festival for the last 3 years and this year we have a fantastic 31 FREE events scheduled across the 19 days. So why not come along have a beer or a glass of wine, laugh and enjoy some comedy in the heart of Leicester's Cultural Quarter.
