Known for their appearance on Xfactor in 2014, Leicester Folk Duo, ‘Mia and the Moon’ will be performing at The Exchange on Sunday 10th September.


Since their Xfactor appearance Mia and the Moon have toured America, Europe and Africa leading to the release of debut album ‘Fall Awake’ (Co/Produced & Recorded by Leicester’s ‘Neil Segrott’). Fall Awake was well received by Acoustic Magazine, Time Out, NME, Huffington Post, BBC Radio; leading to a nomination as Best Country/Folk Act at last years Unsigned Music Awards in London. One track from the album, ‘Moments’ was used as the Theme Music by South African Documentary/Film ‘Alison’ in 2016, a film that went on to receive a nomination for Best Sound Design at the 2017 SAFTA’S. And most recently, another track; ‘Midnight in London’ was used by Ellen DeGeneres World for their Youtube Documentary following Ellen as she promoted her film ‘Dory’.

Sister’s Laura and Mary-Anne have always lived and recorded music here in Leicester and are very excited to be putting on an end of Summer afternoon concert at the Exchange to showcase both released and new, unheard songs. Featuring Laura, Mary-Anne and friends, the gig will be raising money for the Jerry Green Dog Rescue and Animals Asia! “Don’t Miss This” Acoustic Magazine.
