#Lestahour Tweet-Up is the city's newest business networking event which will take place on Thursday, 31 August at the Exchange Bar.
The free business networking event will run from 6-8pm in our cosy cellar and is open to anyone looking to meet new business contacts. #Lestahour is a local hashtag hour on Twitter that allows people and brands to promote and share their business and make new connections every Thursday by using the hashtag in their tweets.
Although it’s dubbed ‘Meet the peeps behind the tweets’ it is an informal, relaxed networking event aimed at anyone, so you don’t have to use Twitter to attend. Marketing consultant, Jemma Redden, set-up @Lestahour Twitter account earlier this year which now has over 300 followers. Jemma said: “Leicester was missing a local hour on Twitter and when I lived in other cities I found the local hour to be a great way to connect with other businesses.
“There’s lots of choice when it comes to business networking events and many you have to
make a commitment to attend each week or month. I hope the #Lestahour event will be a
friendly, informal and relaxed bi-monthly networking opportunity without any commitment.”
It’s free to sign up to reserve your place through Eventbrite. The first Tweet-Up will take place on Thursday, 31 August 6-8pm at Exchange Bar - reserve your place now!
The second Tweet-Up is part of the list of events for the Leicester Business Festival and will take place at the same venue and time on Wednesday, 1 November. Business are welcome to bring banners, literature and of course business cards (you never know who you might meet!)
